I've been involved with the family business since I was just 11 years old. After high school I attended watch making school for two-and-a-half years and after school I worked as watch maker at store for eight years before running the business. My career in the luxury watches industry started with Ulysse Nardin in 2001. I will always be grateful to Ulysse Nardin for giving me a chance to represent a fine Swiss watch brand when no one else would. I was born and raised in Ravenna and now live in the Cleveland area with my wife Harriet and daughter. I love to travel when I get a chance and finding great restaurants! I also enjoy audio file and home entertainment equipment.
I’ve been with Picciones’ for over eight years. I’ve been working hands-on with the watches for five years, and everything that I’ve learned gives me a unique opportunity to help anyone who is interested in a basic chronograph or something more complicated like a tourbillon, perpetual calendar or multicomplications. I’ve seen almost every type of complication the watch industry has to offer and some of the most complex timepieces in the world. I enjoy watching and rooting for the Cavs and Browns, cooking, enjoying the company of my friends and family and finding all the great eateries the Greater Cleveland area has to offer. I’m recently married to my beautiful wife, Karen.
I worked with the Wendy’s Corporation for 25 years; ten years as part of the company and 15 years as a franchisee. In all, I had a 17 store Wendy’s market between Lake County and Trumbull County. I started become interested in watches after selling my business. I got to know several watch store owners throughout the country and I asked David if I could join his team. I began working at Picciones’ shortly after they opened in 2007. We really have a special team here at Picciones’ and I hope to meet many more people in the future! I live in Lake County with my beautiful family. I am a huge Ohio State football fan, as well as a fan of the Cavs and Browns. I am also a cancer survivor.
In 1948, brothers Vince and Joe Piccione started a jewelry store with only $150.00. Vince was a watchmaker and hand engraver by trade and Joe had gone to school to study business. Together they started and managed a very popular and successful store in Ravenna, Ohio. The location is now at Legacy Village in Lyndhurst, Ohio, where exceptionally friendly customer service and care remains the Picciones' hallmark.
Joe and Vince have both passed on and today the store is operated by David Piccione, the son of Vince. David is a second-generation watchmaker who is truly passionate about watches. By the time David had taken over the day-to-day operations, the store had moved away from carrying Swiss made watches, but David decided to change directions in early 2001.
"My passion for watches never left so I decided to search out what I thought was the best watch company with the same passion for watches I have. After many meetings with some of the world's most prestigious watch companies I had the pleasure to meet with Ulysse Nardin. This was my last meeting before making my decision on what company to pursue...Truthfully I didn't think I had a chance, but Patrik and Rolf must have seen the fire in my eyes and granted my wish," David remarks.
Ulysse Nardin was the first acquisition for Picciones' back in 2001, and now the store maintains over a dozen of the finest Swiss brands. Picciones' carries brands that specialize in complications such as perpetual calendars, tourbillons, minute repeaters, and other extremely fine and technically advanced watchmaking mechanisms. David and his staff pride themselves on explaining how complications work. Giving customers the knowledge to make informed buying decisions is an important aspect of how business is conducted at Picciones'.
